Two cooks in the kitchen...
Oct. 11th, 2005 02:13 pmLast night, I hosted my bookclub meeting. This is a rotating role, and the hostess each month provides a buffet dinner during the book discussion. I had envisioned doing a lot of cooking ahead of time, but we had such a busy weekend that we didn't get a chance.
So, during nap time, Josh & I launched into a cooking extravaganza, the likes of which we haven't done for a long time. (We love cooking together, but lately it's been more of a tag-team experience)
In two hours, we prepared:
* Mushrooms stuffed w/ pancetta, sage & shallots
* Blue cheese dip w/ veggies
* Chicken, chorizo and tortilla soup with smoked cheddar cheese (my current favorite soup)
* black bean quesadillas w/ guacamole
* Molten chocolate cakes
It all came out well, and the gathering was great, but most of all it was so great to have some good quality cooking-time with my guy again!
