You say it's your birthday....
Dec. 3rd, 2005 10:31 pmTonight, we had a fantastic dinner at Sarah & Magnus's house to celebrate my upcoming birthday (on Tuesday). When Sarah explained this fact to Toby he ran to me and eagerly exclaimed, "Mommy, it's yous birthday! You supposed to share! Where yous cake?"
Once the cake arrived (ohmyGODwasitgood!) Toby jumped around and shouted "IT'S YOUS BIRTHDAY NOW!! LET'S EAT CAKE!" He did sing me a lovely solo "happy birthday to youuuuu!" also.
Toby did incredibly well, even ignoring the fact that he's got an ear infection and a bad cough. -And I'm now on antibiotics for my likely sinus infection. We are not the loveliest family to be around right now, I'm afraid.
Jake's over the fever induced by his vaccinations on Thursday, but is still a bit stuffy (has been for weeks, alas). He did a great job at dinner and spent much time cooing and having smily discussions with everybody, particulary Morfar.
A gift of note from my sisters & their families - a gift certificate to a knife skills course at the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts. How cool is that? I was telling them how much I'd love a class like that after reading in
tamidon's blog about her knife skills class. Very observant sisters I have, no?
oh, btw, dinner at the Nashoba Valley Winery was really great. The service was only so-so, which is disappointing given their prices. I'd definitely give them another shot though because the food & atmosphere were excellent!
I'm told that I'm not putting in enough pictures. Perhaps this is because we're all sick, sleep-deprived and drippy. I will go see if I can hunt some down that will not gross you out.
