Using words...
Jan. 17th, 2006 02:32 pmOvernight I came down with some type of stomach bug. While I was downstairs at 5:00 am sending an email to work saying I would not be in, Toby started crying. I ran up to him and asked what was wrong. He said, very clearly through his tears, "Something's wrong with my tummy!"
Poor kid...he bounced back in a few hours though - ate a normal breakfast & was his usual self. Wish I'd gotten off that easily. But I digress...
It was SO cool that he could tell me exactly what was wrong, especially since it's not anything he has experienced before. We could actually talk about it and tell him that my tummy didn't feel well either. Instead of just crying and Josh & I wondering what was the problem (ear infection? etc.) we knew exactly what the problem was and could comfort him better.
How's that for looking on the bright side?
