paperwork observation
Aug. 29th, 2006 08:12 pmToday I had to review & update all Laurie's paperwork for the boys. We do this annually. Anyway, I found in Toby's file the one-page typed instructions we gave her when Toby went there when he was four months old. We included lots of helpful details like "He likes music," "He likes dancing", instructions on how to heat up a bottle, etc. etc.
I reviewed Jake's file...you know what we put in there?
"He is a baby. Love him up!"
Now, I actually attribute this change in attitude to TWO things:
1) Yeah, we're a bit less uptight this time around. We realize that, while Jake is just about the cutest & sweetest baby ever, he really is a pretty typical baby and is fairly predictable in most ways.
2) We are *so* comfortable with Laurie. She does not need to be told what babies like - she can read them like the pro that she is, and, while she takes input, does not need instructions on the basics.
Both good developments, IMO. : )
