peacefulmayhemThis morning, I got up and was on the way to Jake's room to check on him (he was quiet, but he's been sick so I wanted to check on him) I peeked into Toby's room, and he wasn't in his bed. I scanned the room and didn't seem him. Hmmm.
I looked behind the door, behind his chair, in the bathroom. Ok, this was getting weird. Jake's door was closed with the doorknob cover on, so not in there. The gate was closed, so he couldn't be downstairs. Again, Hmm.
Finally, I went into Jake's room. And Toby was in there, lying in the dark right next to sleeping Jake in the crib. He had brought his buddies (sheepie & doggie) up into the crib with him.
I said, very softly, "Toby, what are you doing?"
He replied, also quietly, "I cuddlin' my baby brullah!"
As background, Toby doesn't go in the crib. It generally doesn't come up, because he's shown no interest in it. We're fine with that because it makes a "safe" place to put Jake, away from toddlers and dogs.
Why, this morning, did he decide to sneak in? I don't know, but we love that he wanted to steal some special snuggles with Jake. (also that he was careful while doing it)
