Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar

The other night, Toby & I were playing at the kitchen table at the end of dinner. We were walking our fingers around on the table like legs of little people, and making them talk to each other in goofy voices. Toby's little character then started roaring at my little one, and mine would run behind the water glass etc.
I then asked him, "Are you a dinosaur?" He replied that he was not a dinosaur.
I asked, "Are you a lion?" He replied that he was not a lion.
Finally, my little person asked "Well, then what are we?" And he replied in a goofy little voice "Maybe we are just fingers." Duh.

Interesting to see the fight between imagination and him trying to figure things out. He often asks if something is 'real' (usually in reference to a photo or illustration in a book).
