This morning, I got up and was on the way to Jake's room to check on him (he was quiet, but he's been sick so I wanted to check on him) I peeked into Toby's room, and he wasn't in his bed. I scanned the room and didn't seem him. Hmmm.

I looked behind the door, behind his chair, in the bathroom. Ok, this was getting weird. Jake's door was closed with the doorknob cover on, so not in there. The gate was closed, so he couldn't be downstairs. Again, Hmm.

Finally, I went into Jake's room. And Toby was in there, lying in the dark right next to sleeping Jake in the crib. He had brought his buddies (sheepie & doggie) up into the crib with him.

I said, very softly, "Toby, what are you doing?"
He replied, also quietly, "I cuddlin' my baby brullah!"

As background, Toby doesn't go in the crib. It generally doesn't come up, because he's shown no interest in it. We're fine with that because it makes a "safe" place to put Jake, away from toddlers and dogs.

Why, this morning, did he decide to sneak in? I don't know, but we love that he wanted to steal some special snuggles with Jake. (also that he was careful while doing it)

Two good boys. : )

(yes, I know it's yon, but yawn made much more sense today. You'll see.)

I was off today, taking Jake to various Dr's appointments. The first was a followup cardiologist checkup. The heart murmur appears to be gone, but there was some issue on the EKG that made the Dr. want to do an echocardiogram. (he said it fell into a "gray area" -not necessarily a problem at all, but the only way to be sure is to do the echo.)

We had to wait for quite a while because we were unscheduled, but then it went very well. Jake was amazingly good and patient -lying there with someone rolling a sensor around on his neck / chest / belly for an hour. It was neat - if he fussed and I started singing he would settle right down. :) We'll hear results on Tuesday. The Dr. said there was nothing to worry about, but it will still be nice to have results.

We then proceeded to our pediatrician to look into Jake's cough, which has gotten progressively worse through the week. (We were up every hour or two last night). He has bronchiolitis, and we will be giving him a nebulizer treatment every 4 hours for two days, and every 6 hours for the next two days. it's going to be a LONG LONG weekend. He's having a pretty tough time, and hates the nebulizer. We'll get through it though.

So yes, today we saw doctors, hither and yaaaawn.
